What exactly does the Township Board do, anyway??

Great question! The Township Advisory Board assists the Township Trustee by adopting the annual budget for the township, serves as a board of finance, and approves contracts that the township enters into.

Rick believes that local government is very important to the governing process and the Township Board is no exception. This is why Rick wants to urge the township to adopt a more transparent government by utilizing technology, most notably the Internet, to publicize information such as who is currently on the board, who is the current Trustee, how can I contact those officials, what is the township's budget, and where can I see the minutes of the township government's meetings? All of these things are important for those who want to keep our local government accountable.

Why is Rick Brown running as a Libertarian?

Rick is a Libertarian for one major reason: He believes that you can do a better job of managing your life better than he, or any other politician or bureaucrat, can! The great thing about being a Libertarian is that the only real qualification is that you believe in freedom. Many Libertarians have differing opinions on various issues, but the one thing that binds them together is Liberty.

Rick's personal journey to the Libertarian Party ironically came through working for the government. He has been shocked at what goes on right under the citizens' noses in various government entities. Rick wants to be in a position to make sure that doesn't happen. It's also the main reason why transparency in government is so important to him. Help support Rick by voting on Novbember 4th!

But won't I be throwing my vote away by voting for a 3rd party candidate?

Absolutely not!! Early indications are that Rick Brown has an excellent chance of winning a seat on the Townshp Board. When Rick announced his candidacy he received encouragement from Democrats and Republicans alike. The outpouring of support was amazing! We feel confident that Rick Brown will be the next Board Member of Fall Creek Township. Join us and help us make history by electing the first Libertarian office holder in Madison County!!

The great thing is that there are 3 positions open and there are 4 of us running: two Democrats and one Republican. Therefore, you can vote for your party of choice AND still vote for Rick!! No throwing away of votes necessary (and we disagree with that premise anyway)! Let's vote for Rick in November!!
